New inherited eye diseases clinic opens at the School of Veterinary Medicine University of Pennsylvania.
With the return of Dr. Gustavo Aguirre to the School of Veterinary Medicine, a new clinic specializing in inherited diseases of the eye in animals will be started at the Matthew J. Ryan Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Aguirre is an internationally recognized opthamologist whose clinical research work has been instrumental in controlling the major inherited eye disseases of dogs. He and his research group have
developed most of the DNA-based tests that are currently availble to specifically determine the affected, carrier or normal status of dogs with inherited eye diseases.
